I've wanted to make a salt dough Lady Lent ever since I saw this pretty one, and I thought the girls would be excited about it this year. After looking at pictures, they decided they wanted to color pictures like we usually do. So they did.
And I made a salt dough Lady!
Recipe:
2 cups flour
1/2 cup salt
1+ cup water
Baked 350 for 30 minutes.
I didn't use a template, just sort of rolled it out and shaped it. I kept the dough kind of thick so it wouldn't break. I brushed water on to make the lentils stick, and mixed a little paprika and water for the rosy cheeks. I drew my cross with a knife and then wet it and filled it with pepper. Much fun! I think the girls will want to play along next year.
