This photograph is from Pravmir in a short article about the baptism of children. What I love about this photo by Gavroche is the way that every action in Orthodoxy is seen as a part of the greater theological story, and so often this happens happily in a visual way because of the extraordinary icons on the walls. As Christ reaches down to pull Adam from Hades in the icon on the wall, the child is lifted from the waters of baptism into Christ as well.
